Children’s Home – From Protection to Independence

For children who are orphaned, abandoned, missing, or unable to return safely to their families, childhood can be marked by uncertainty and vulnerability. Established in 2015, TAABAR’s Children’s Home provides a safe, nurturing and structured environment where vulnerable children can heal, learn, grow and build a future with dignity and hope.

The Home provides long-term care for children up to 18 years of age, combining education, healthcare, nutrition, counselling, sports, creative activities and life-skills development. Children receive formal schooling, subject-specific academic support, digital and vocational training, career counselling and opportunities to explore their interests through theatre, dance, arts and sports. Older children are supported with higher education, vocational pathways and employment linkages to prepare them for independent living.

A dedicated team works closely with the Medical Department, Education Department, Child Welfare Committee, District Child Protection Unit and legal authorities to ensure that every child’s health, education, identity, legal rights and rehabilitation needs are addressed.

Our commitment does not end when a child turns 18. Individual transition plans, aftercare, education and employment support, life-skills training, housing linkages, mentorship and post-exit follow-up help care leavers move confidently into adulthood.

For TAABAR, success is not simply a child growing up safely—it is seeing that child become a confident, skilled and self-reliant individual who can shape their own future.
